During the first 10–14 days, your goal is to keep the sod and the soil beneath it consistently moist. Allowing it to dry out, even for a day during a MidSouth heat wave, can stress or even kill sections of your new lawn.

New sod loses moisture quickly, especially during the hot Tennessee summer. Without enough water, you may notice:
